What do we do?

We are the local party of the Liberal Democrats covering the two parliamentary constituencies of Clacton and Harwich & North Essex (as shown on the adjacent map), including the entirety of the Tendring District Council area and some of the rural parts of the Colchester Borough Council area (and the relevent divisions on Essex County Council). We organise local activities throughout this area, including campaigning, fundraising, and events. Many of these activities are organised via our branches in Brightlingsea and Manningtree. We work with other local parties and the regional and national parties in order to help achieve a more liberal Britain. As a member-led party, there are opportunites for members to be involved in everything from policy-making to fundraising.

We welcome ideas and involvement from all of our members, including new members. Like most Liberal Democrat local parties, we have had a surge of new members after both the general election and the EU referendum: many of them are on the Executive Committee and a number have stood for election.

If you are interested in supporting us to achieve our aims, please consider joining us, donating to the local party, or offering to volunteer. For further details, just e-mail us via the address above.
