Vote Liberal Democrat in the General Election to stop a hard Brexit

Tim Farron addressing tens of thousands of pro-EU demonstrators outside Parliament.

North East Essex Liberal Democrats are fighting hard to keep our area open, tolerant and united. We are standing a candidate in both Harwich and North Essex and Clacton constituencies. With the nation divided and all other major parties failing to offer a positive and viable alternative, it is incredibly important now more than ever to stand up for liberal values.

Find out more below about our candidates standing in your area, sign up to volunteer and donate!

Harwich & North Essex - Dominic Graham

Dominic GrahamDominic will be a strong voice standing up for our NHS and will campaign fiercely against the potential closure of Harwich Minor Injuries Unit. He will stand up for our European friends living here in the UK and is a strong advocate of freedom of movement. He is a committed liberal and proud European, passionately believing in a strong relationship with the EU and is campaigning against a hard Brexit.

Dominic is a family man, married with 3 young children. A solicitor by profession, Dominic is a Colchester Councillor and recently served as Cabinet Portfolio holder for Waste and Sustainability.

With your help, we can fight to give Harwich and North Essex a pro-European, liberal voice. So please, help us to elect Dominic Graham as the Liberal Democrat MP for Harwich and North Essex by donating, no matter how small. Together, we can build an open, tolerant and united society and say 'NO' to the Government's reckless hard Brexit.

Clacton - David Grace

David GraceClacton Liberal Democrats have re-selected David Grace to be their candidate for the General Election. Mr Grace, a charity administrator, thanked local members for their confidence and added:

"People in Clacton are angry and rightly so. It is extraordinary that an area so close to London has been so neglected by successive governments. We don't have enough doctors and we must fight the threatened closure of the Minor Injuries Unit. Our schools face cuts in funding of up to 19% which will mean fewer teachers and larger classes. The elderly and the sick and Theresa May's JAMs ("Just about managing") all struggle to cope on limited incomes while benefits are capped. UKIP told everyone that leaving the European Union would solve their problems. People are becoming more angry as they discover that this was a lie. The Tories' hard Brexit will inevitable damage our economy and Liberal Democrats will fight to stop it by giving the voters a chance to vote on the deal."
